About Ville
Ville Gym Club aims to provide a high quality coaching service to all members by nurturing their enjoyment of and skills in gymnastics. We welcome all ages and abilities and believe its important to encourage children to take on whatever level they feel most comfortable doing whether that’s once a week or as a national competing gymnast.
Club Background
Ville Gymnastics Club was formed in 1980 by its present organiser John Field.The club is fairly small with approximately 25 squad members and 60 recreational.
We have 20 coaches, all volunteers.
Parents are encouraged to help, putting apparatus out and away. This does have some advantages, in that we coaches get to know the parents and therefore the club has quite a social side, with many annual functions. The ratio of coach to gymnasts, helps create a very high standard and achievement.
How good are we? Well results provide the best yardstick. Since 1998 our gymnasts have won 12 national medals, they have been Southern Region Champions 20 times and County Champions no less than 42 times. E.g 2006 British Women’s Compulsory Level 2- Round 1, , Hampshire 6th Grade Championships
